    ALEX MAR is a director and producer based in New York City. A graduate of Harvard University, she draws on a background in both journalism and production. Previously a producer and writer for MTV News, she has also been an editor for Rolling Stone; a reporter for New York Magazine; and a guest correspondent for CBS, ABC, and the BBC. She has contributed to Rolling Stone, New York, Artforum, Bookforum, Art Review, Frieze, and National Public Radio on arts and culture; and to Slate and Salon on politics and social issues. As a director, she is currently in post-production on the documentary AMERICAN MYSTIC, her feature-film debut; and in development for the self-penned thriller THE CURE. As a partner in Empire 8 Productions, she is currently in pre-production for GOD BLESS TINY TIM, the narrative feature debut of Jeff Feuerzeig (THE DEVIL AND DANIEL JOHNSTON); and FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT, a dark psychological thriller directed by Fabrice Du Welz (CALVAIRE, VINYAN) which will shoot in New York this spring 2010.

    NICHOLAS SHUMAKER is a producer based in New York City. A Georgetown graduate, he began his career working with Emmy Award-winning journalist Mike Cerre on a State Department-funded journalist exchange between the U.S. and the Middle East. Shumaker then moved to Cuba to produce the award-winning documentary BOXERS AND BALLERINAS. While previously an executive at film-finance fund White Buffalo Entertainment, he was instrumental in the development, production, and sales strategies of THEATER OF WAR (Tribeca ‘08 premiere, Sundance Channel), LOVELY, STILL (stars Academy Award winners Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn, Toronto ‘08 premiere), and RACING DREAMS (directed by Academy Award nominee Marshall Curry). As a partner in Empire 8 Productions, he is currently in pre-production for GOD BLESS TINY TIM and FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT; and in post-production on AMERICAN MYSTIC and ANOTHER EARTH, with producer Paul Mezey (MARIA FULL OF GRACE, HALF NELSON, SUGAR). Shumaker is also a founding member of Norwood, an arts club based in New York.
